7 Signs You’re Doing Better in Life Than You Think
How are you doing, really? Most people judge themselves only by money or status. Here are seven signs that you’re doing better than you think. If you recognise yourself in most of them, be proud. If not, now you know exactly what to work on.
1. You don’t accept every fight invite
People will constantly invite you to fight, just to prove they’re right or better than you. If you’d rather “lose” an imaginary fight than give up your inner peace, you’re doing well. Sometimes you have to fight, for your freedom and your rights. Choose those fights consciously, and skip the rest.
2. You respect people for who they are
Regardless of skin colour, religion, sexual orientation or beliefs. We’ve all been raised differently and lived through different things, so we can’t all see the world the same way. If you see humanity as one big family, and not just the people you share blood with, you’re doing better than you think.
3. You’ve mastered self-control
Most of the world is addicted to something: cigarettes, the news, social media, the phone, even the morning coffee. If you can choose to do something and choose not to, you’re not a slave to your needs.
And if you’re not there yet, the first step is honesty. Don’t tell yourself “I could stop if I wanted.” Say: “I’m addicted to this, I’m working on it, and I’ll overcome it.”
4. You’re working on yourself
You’re building skills, working towards a vision of where you’ll be in five or ten years, and nobody can talk you out of it, even when they ask, “Out of 8 billion people, you think you’ll make it?” Yes. Because you’re putting in the effort.
5 to 7, plus a bonus
In the video I cover the last three: knowing how much you don’t know (we’re eternal students), animals naturally gravitating towards you, and taking care of yourself every day. Plus the extra sign that matters most: a heart big enough for everyone around you.
