How to Open Your Third Eye: 4 Daily Practices (and a Bonus)
The third eye is one of the seven energy centres that carry your life force through your body, sitting in the middle of your head. In many people it’s closed tight, and what keeps it closed or opens it is mostly what you do every day.
When it opens, you start to see that much of what you believed was a filter placed in front of your eyes. Here are the practices I use.
1. Meditation
Meditation stops the inner chatter and the overthinking. Usually we’re so deep in our heads that we don’t even notice what’s happening around us. Meditation brings you back to your senses, and lets your conscious mind meet your subconscious.
Give yourself at least 30 minutes a day of nothing but conscious breathing. That’s the key out of the mental prison.
2. Move your body
Your brain needs blood flow. When your body barely moves, everything stagnates, and your focus goes with it. It doesn’t have to be push-ups and pull-ups: yoga, or any way of moving that you enjoy, works. Try things until you find your routine.
3. Detach
From the laptop, the phone, the urge to scroll and the urge to watch something. We’re hooked on consuming information we never stop to process: is it real, is it true, is it worth anything?
Detach first and form your own view of the truth. Then you can use your devices again, as tools you control instead of habits that control you. Consume information, I do every day, but choose it.
4. Your diet, and a bonus
In the video I explain why I went vegan, with a very visual experiment involving a glass, bacon, coffee and a lot of fruit, plus the bonus practice I use all day: conscious breathing, like wind clearing clouds from the sky.
