Watch This If You Get Easily Offended (a Sweeter Version of a Hard Truth)
A video I made recently got quite negative feedback, so here’s the same truth, polished and wrapped as a gift, because people usually prefer a sweet lie to a harsh truth.
The ego makes us look down on people
What I said was this: the ego mind makes us feel better than others. It puts us in a competitive state, makes us think we know more and are more powerful, and makes us look down on people. Then we do things that annoy and hurt the people around us.
That probably stepped on a pain point. But sometimes the painful truth helps more than a comforting lie, if it stops someone slowly ruining every relationship they have.
Why people go quiet, then go
Some people will let you feel more powerful in the moment, just to protect their inner peace. Nothing is allowed to disturb that, not even your ego. So they say “OK, no problem”, and later they quietly detach. Then the next one does. If your kingdom is built on ruling over people, it falls the moment they start leaving.
Ask the honest question
If people keep walking out of your life, it’s tempting to blame them. Ask instead: what am I doing that makes everyone leave? Otherwise you’ll end up alone, looking for comfort in people you hurt, who may never come back. Learn to hold the leash of your ego. Change now, before you lose another one.
